A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially-minded Estate Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a 600-acre working farm near Maldon, which forms part of a private charitable foundation.
This is a diverse, hands-on role combining operational estate management with administrative and financial oversight, property responsibilities, and strategic input. The successful candidate will be comfortable working autonomously, with broad experience across both agricultural and commercial sectors.
The role will require flexibility but will also be flexible with the job aiming to be around 3 days per week on a contract employment basis. Salay will be negotiable for the right candidate, please get in touch to discuss this.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Managing the operational and strategic aspects of a working farm
Overseeing and running a portfolio of commercial properties on the estate
Handling farm and charity admin including, banking, and payment schedules
Acting as a charity secretary
Liaising with investment managers and identifying development opportunities
Managing land use, leases, and identifying future commercial opportunities
Being able to get stuck in and help out around the farm as neededYou'll report directly to the Board of Trustees and play a key role in ensuring the estate continues to support the charitable objectives of the foundation whilst helping with future plans and proposals.
