Pedal Pulse is building a modern cycling brand with two engines:
1. a subscription cycling app (iOS live, Android imminent)
This is a “digital + real world” play: content, community, commerce, and a physical hub that cyclists actually want to visit.
The role I’m looking for a Marketing Co-Founder / Founding CMO to take full ownership of growth and brand — across the app and the physical location.
This is not a “manage an agency” role. It’s hands‑on, high‑ownership, build‑from‑zero.
What you’ll own Paid + performance: Meta/Google/YouTube tests, landing pages, funnels, CAC/LTV thinking
Partnerships: cycling brands, clubs, events, ambassadors, and local tourism/community ties
Launch marketing: help make the Morton‑in‑Marsh opening a proper moment
Build the function: playbooks, tooling, and eventually hiring a team from an option pool
You need to be local enough to show up in Morton‑in‑Marsh and get stuck in when needed — especially around launch, events, collaborations, and in‑store moments.
Who you are A strong marketer
You can blend creative instincts with numbers and execution.
You likely have:
Evidence you’ve grown a consumer product (app/subscription/community/DTC)
Confidence setting strategy and running experiments weekly
Strong copy + creative judgement (you can tell what will land with cyclists)
A bias to action: ship, learn, iterate
You’re a genuine cycling fan. You follow the sport, understand the culture, and can speak the language without trying.
You don’t need to be elite — but you do need to be credible:
you ride regularly and/or have raced at any level
you follow racing and the cycling calendar (and the vibe)
you understand cycling communities: clubs, group rides, Strava, indoor training
you have opinions on what makes cycling content worth reading/watching
Compensation Equity-first (~6‑12%), structured with standard vesting
Salary later once revenues support it (or after fundraising)
Option pool will be created for the broader team, with room to grow equity over time
Optional: personal cash investment (separate from earned equity) and/or introductions to angels is helpful — not required
