We are pleased to recruit a post of Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in Complex Trauma with an interest in Primary Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, based at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in the management of complex orthopaedic trauma, including major trauma cases, as well as contributing to the delivery of a high-quality primary hip and knee arthroplasty service. The post-holder will participate fully in the consultant on-call rota and support the continued development of trauma and elective services within the department.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will contribute to the training, supervision, and mentorship of junior doctors and allied healthcare professionals, and to provide expert advice and support to consultant colleagues.

In order to meet service demands, maintain compliance with national targets including the 18-week referral-to-treatment pathway, and support ambulatory and major trauma pathways, the Trust is seeking to strengthen its consultant workforce.

This post offers an excellent opportunity to work within a busy tertiary centre, contributing to both trauma and elective orthopaedic services, while supporting innovation, service development, and high standards of patient care.
