Position: Forecasting and Planning Manager Contract Type: Permanent – 37.5 hours Location: Coventry Shift: Monday-Friday Join the UK’s premier parcel delivery company What you’ll do: As General Manager of forecasting & Planning, your role is responsible for accurately forecasting and planning the volume of parcels in the Evri Premium network. Taking new information, such as sales or promotional activity and historic trends and understanding the impact on demand. Critically, you’ll provide clear communication between key stakeholders such as Commercial, Finance, Hub, Depot and Delivery teams. The position holder is expected to implement and define new tools, processes and metrics to continuously improve volume forecasting. You will be responsible for managing a growing team covering a 24/7 operation in creating & managing live forecast changes and distributing key metrics to the full network to plan to business SLAs and cost saving initiatives. Travel around the Evri Premium network is expected to ensure the continuous improvement of forecasting and planning strategy. The primary aim is to provide information to the business regarding future forecasts, identifying potential issues and providing advice on prospective challenges and solutions as they arise from both a service and cost perspective. Key Role Responsibilities: Overseeing the management of the Network and International Planning, covering the 24/7 operation Accountable for all daily, weekly and strategic volume forecasts for the full network from an operational and cost planning perspective Continuous improvement of live data sets and associated working practices to improve forecasting accuracy and drive cost savings across the network in alignment with key stakeholder CPUs To be able to design an operational recovery/improvement plan – working with the Operations teams to mobilise and implement the recovery in the event of a service risk and appropriate steps of escalation Predicting volume fluctuation from clients and identifying trends to enable the network to better plan to resourcing requirements Delivering the annual Peak plan and special events across the network; to include but not be limited to pre-forecasting of hubs and depots and ensuring volume can be processed within SLA within the network infrastructure/capacity Modelling and sign off of all suggested Network Infrastructure changes from a Hub, Transport and depot view point to ensure network capacity Proactive management of all key stakeholders for BAU and special event planning Creating, implementing, and managing of new tools and models to improve volume forecasting and management of service scores and operational KPIs Overseeing client volume research and implement controls to predict volumes scheduled to come into the network whilst evaluating actions required for compliance with our revenue recognition accounting process Analysing processing information and create the appropriate forecasting methods. To influence senior stakeholders with data analysis and corrective actions daily Establishing clear demand planning/KPI’s which drive the overall business to support financial budgeting and generating data for peer benchmarking reports. What We’re Looking For Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Ms Excel and preferably Ms Access / Database skills Excel modelling needed; VBA desired but no essential. Experience of developing new processes and procedures within an operation and to multiple sites/ functions Experience of analysing large amounts of data Excellent knowledge of transport planning software and systems with operational knowledge of live systems preferable Knowledge of parcel delivery process preferred Strong technical, strategic, and operational skills Problem solving and planning effective contingencies and solutions. Ability to design new analytical tools, methods and reports to aid the senior operation team Data manipulation and modelling / costing techniques skills Excellent organisational and communication skills All parts of the operation where service is a measurement Good stakeholder management skills from multiple teams and negotiation skills to aid the operational development Ability to embrace other functional areas and collaborate action – Hubs, Depot, Delivery etc etc. Demonstrate the ability to inspire and gain acceptance and ‘buy in’ of improvement proposals.
