What skills and experience we're looking for
In the role of Coordinator of Maths across the academy, you will:
* Play a key role in leading Maths to ensure outstanding outcomes for students in all areas of teaching and learning, curriculum provision, standard of attainment, and behaviour and safety within the curriculum area.
* Communicate clear purpose and vision for developing Maths across the curriculum to colleagues within your department and the wider academy.
* Provide clear, cohesive leadership and direction in the department by motivating teachers and support staff to develop innovative strategies to enhance the quality of learning, teaching, and achievement.
* Deliver highly engaging, relevant, and innovative learning opportunities at all key stages to ensure students make exceptional progress in Maths and acquire key skills for success in the academy and their future lives.
* Promote high standards through effective teaching and learning within Maths, including preparation, evaluation, and action planning.
* Ensure the implementation of the intervention model following data collection cycles across the department.
* Implement the department development plan and SEF to secure continuous improvement and quality outcomes for all students.
* Act on feedback to build on strengths and improve personal performance within the academy systems.
* Review academy contextual factors and prior attainment when planning and teaching lessons.
* Support Maths across the academy through cross-curricular active learning approaches to enrich curriculum and skills delivery.
As Coordinator of Numeracy across the academy, you will:
* Lead and oversee the development of the Numeracy curriculum, providing students with opportunities and skills for later life.
* Assist in developing policies and procedures aligned with academy policy to ensure high achievement and effective teaching and learning.
* Use student performance data to inform policies, identify underachieving students, and monitor the impact of Numeracy strategies.
* Support the senior leadership team in planning, reviewing, and developing Numeracy policies and practices.
* Work as part of the teaching and learning team.
* Establish clear expectations and constructive relationships among staff involved with Numeracy, delegating responsibilities appropriately.
* Model outstanding teaching and learning practices and demonstrate leadership.
* Collaborate with SEN staff to ensure work is matched to individual student needs.
* Manage learning resources effectively, including ICT.
* Track student progress and use this information to inform teaching.
* Recognize and celebrate student achievement.
* Model the vision and values of the academy.
* Carry out professional duties as required, adhering to policies.
