As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed design documents using AutoCAD, working from sketches, marked-up drawings, and vendor information. You’ll work independently to develop accurate and standardized drawings, maintain project documentation, and support coordination efforts, including occasional site visits. The role requires familiarity with structural systems, process manufacturing equipment, and various engineering disciplines, along with strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in AutoCAD (with knowledge of Inventor or SolidWorks preferred).
The ideal candidate will be located in Northampton.
Key requirements include:
* Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting .
* 5+ years of drafting/design experience .
* Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Inventor/SolidWorks is a plus.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience .
* Ability to interpret engineering sketches, notes, and verbal instructions.
* Familiarity with piping, structural, conveyance, and process equipment.
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
