Hastings District Council has developed a reputation for getting things done and being proactive in supporting its communities. Cyclone Gabriel has devastated parts of our community and Council is at the forefront of the recovery that is required. The impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle have been significant on our Roading network. The community has responded, and the recovery is gaining momentum as we reconnect our communities. We are gaining momentum with the investigation, planning and design of a vast recovery programme to rebuild our devastated and fragile roading infrastructure. We have multiple roles available in our Transportation Team to help us develop project designs and deliver outstanding project outcomes to our communities.
Council requires an experienced Strategic Transportation Planner who will lead transport planning activities with a specific focus on the Transportation Cyclone Recovery Programme to ensure the delivery of quality and cost efficient resilient roading infrastructure.
Playing a pivotal role within the Transportation Delivery Team and working closely with our industry leading Professional Services Panel of Consultants.
This position will lead transport planning initiatives through the phases of business case development, from confirming the strategic purpose and direction, through the benefits realisation process, to identifying a recommended programme of works and subsequent recommended project option, including support of the consenting phases through:
* Development and Planning
* Reporting
The successful candidate will have:
* A recognised industry qualification
* Strategic Transport Planning Experience
* Initiative and be able to work in a team environment.
* A cool and collected manner when working under pressure
* An innovative and proactive approach to solving problems
