Job Overview
We are looking for a keen and motivated Consultant Paediatrician with a specialist interest in epilepsy to join our dynamic team at Scarborough and York hospitals. The role works cross-site between Scarborough and York hospitals, and is a 6PA job plan including 1.25 SPA. Additional acute paediatrics can be accommodated at Scarborough, increasing the plan to 8 PAs.
Responsibilities
• Undertake paediatric epilepsy clinics within the children’s outpatients department at Scarborough and York hospitals. • Potential clinics in York, Selby, Malton, Bridlington or special schools. • Develop areas of special interest. • Depending on training and expertise, accommodate acute/community work including on-call duties. • Participate in QI projects supported by RCPCH and the Epilepsy 12 national audit. • Provide clinical input to the regional mental health pilot supported by NHS England. • Work collaboratively in an integrated model with acute and community consultants, attending weekly joint meetings.
Qualifications
• Consultant paediatrician with a specialist interest in epilepsy (general or community paediatricians with neurology/neurodisability interest considered). • Appropriate training and expertise to deliver acute and community paediatric care.
