Tool Maker - Double Days
A recognised high volume manufacturer is currently looking to strengthen their Tooling department with the appointment of a Tool Maker.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and maintenance of existing tooling according to requirements.
2. Identify and resolve day-to-day tooling issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
3. Clean all production tooling to ensure on-time delivery and schedule adherence.
4. Ensure all tooling is safe and production-ready upon return, following proper preventative maintenance procedures.
5. Notify the supervisor if assignments cannot be completed as planned.
6. Support engineering change coordination and maintenance of spare parts.
7. Prepare and test tools through layout, setup, and machining.
8. Design and manufacture tools or templates to produce prototypes from various materials, including generating bill of materials and validating fabrication.
9. Verify conformance of machined or repaired tools to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances, and alignments.
10. Fabricate parts for plant machinery and tools as required.
11. Assemble and fit parts, then test tools for proper operation.
12. Setup and monitor tools, perform inspections before removing from machines.
13. Follow up on repair work by gathering feedback from production and quality departments and documenting work undertaken.
14. Promote the company's HSE policies across the department and plant.
Candidate requirements:
* Minimum of an apprenticeship qualification.
* Familiarity with die casting processes.
