Die Maintenance Technician
Location: Washington, Tyne and Wear
Department: Tooling
Shift: 3-shift rotation
Reports to: Tool Room Supervisor
Role Summary
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimising injection moulding tools to ensure production efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on tooling.
* Diagnose faults and implement long-term corrective actions.
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams.
* Perform welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, ARC).
* Manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Mentor apprentices and share technical knowledge.
* Work independently during solo shifts, making critical decisions.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Proven tooling maintenance experience (injection moulding preferred).
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
* Knowledge of hot runner/manifold systems.
* Skilled in tool finishing and bedding.
Desirable:
* Welding (MIG, TIG, Micro TIG, ARC).
* Precision machining, grinding, polishing.
* Awareness of PUWER and safe lifting practices.
