That’s basically the job.
We’re looking for a Process Development Technologist who knows their way around a chilled food factory. Someone who’s been involved in NPD or process trials, understands how to keep projects on track, and doesn’t fall apart when timelines move (again).
You’ll take products from concept handover right through to launch - coordinating trials, sorting packaging and raw materials, and making sure everything runs to plan. It’s a hands-on role, with plenty of variety and plenty of responsibility.
You’ll be working closely with Technical, Production, Planning, and Commercial teams to make sure products are safe, compliant, and profitable. One day you’ll be running a factory trial; the next you’ll be sorting specs, updating documentation, or preparing for a pre-production launch.
What You’ll Actually Do
* Take concept-approved products through trials to full-scale production.
* Organise and run factory trials, making sure raw materials, packaging, and paperwork are ready.
* Keep everything compliant with retailer Codes of Practice and internal standards.
* Work with Technical, Production, and NPD teams to ensure successful launches.
* Complete BOMs, specs, and testing requirements.
* Make sure all products meet technical, food safety, and quality requirements.
What You’ll Need
* Experience within food manufacturing.
* At least 12 months in Process or NPD.
* Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and customer launch protocols.
* A Food Science qualification (HND/BSc) would be ideal, but experience and common sense count more.
* Strong communicator, well organised, and calm under pressure.
* A hands-on, problem-solving mindset with the ability to get things done.
