A global asset manager, headquartered in London, is seeking to hire a Legal Counsel with strong experience in the laws and regulations related to cross-border marketing and distribution, particularly in emerging markets. An important role considering the nature of the business, the successful candidate will ideally have some experience of private funds, licensing for jurisdictional expansion and general corporate matters. You will also work closely with the investment, structuring and marketing teams which allows great exposure to the wider business.
Responsibilities:
* Review and advise on cross-border marketing activities and materials.
* Draft, review, and negotiate distribution, placement agency, and similar agreements.
* Support fund distribution arrangements for existing and new funds alongside investment and structuring teams.
* Assist with fund structuring and set-up across international jurisdictions.
* Provide support on corporate and regulatory matters, including licensing requirements in overseas jurisdictions.
Your Profile:
* 4-8 PQE solicitor, qualified in England & Wales or Commonwealth jurisdiction.
* Experience with cross-border financial promotions and marketing rules.
* Experience negotiating agreements with distributors, placement agents, and intermediaries.
* Ability to work with business teams across investment, structuring, and marketing functions.
* Interest in or exposure to emerging markets.
* Experience supporting licensing or regulatory approvals in overseas markets.
* Experience with private fund management and structuring, including credit, private equity, or hybrid funds.
