Role Overview:
The Citi Global Reconciliations Utility (GRU) provides a common operating and technology model that delivers a scalable and controlled service offering, supporting reconciliation production globally.
The Business Analyst is a key position within the strategic reconciliations program responsible for the development and delivery of ETL and reporting solutions for Account Reconciliation and Governance.
What you'll do
1. Responsible for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of data science projects along with short-term planning resource planning.
2. Contribute to data analytics standards around which others will operate.
3. Apply in-depth understanding of how data analytics collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function.
4. Resolves occasionally complex and highly variable data analytics issues.
5. Produce detailed analysis of issues where the best course of action is not evident from the information available, but actions must be recommended/taken.
6. Create standardized reporting for scheduling metrics, tailored to the audience.
7. Identify reporting/analysis opportunities to proactively find issues and provide productive insights.
8. Consolidate department level analytics, highlight key trends and stories for executive level management.
9. Continuous improvement of reporting content/format and processes, to generate efficiencies and address relevant requirements.
10. Ensures data quality and consistency for reporting.
11. Effectively communicates with senior stakeholders on items related to insights and reporting.
12. Provide direction and technical leadership (where appropriate) on complex, high-impact projects and in all phases of the development and implementation process, ensuring essential procedures are followed.
13. Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated and unique situations and contribute to formulation of standards and strategies for own area and other functional areas.
14. Work as a team to achieve objectives and negotiate with internal and external parties.
15. Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
16. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
17. Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
18. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
What we need from you
19. Extensive relevant experience and good knowledge of ETL processes
20. A good understanding of data (especially large data) and how to analyze and extract valuable, productive insight.
21. Experience of use of Data Analytics and Transformation tools
22. Strong MS Excel skills
23. Experience of involvement in large financial services related initiatives.
24. Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
25. Proven interpersonal skills with ability to partner and influence across organizational lines.
26. Proven ability of using complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques.
27. Knowledge and experience of Reconciliations solutions within a capital markets environment is advantageous.
