You will have responsibility for managing a team of Delay Analysts on a number of complex and concurrent projects and will be ready to progress your career by growing your team, work winning and delivering, and progressing towards delay expert status.
Responsibilities and Duties
Working as a Delay Director in the London office, you will work with the Delay team to prepare analysis and expert reports for high-value and complex arbitration and litigation proceedings:
* Manage a team of delay analysts working on several cases.
* Work towards writing your own expert reports.
* Provide specialist delay and forensic advice to external clients.
* Support provision of specialist expert advice on all alternative dispute resolution subject areas.
* Act as an appointed Expert on selected commissions when requested to do so.
* Use previous experience of testifying and related work to grow your reputation and secure further opportunities to testify.
* Deliver expert delay and forensic planning services in line with client briefs.
* Network and win work by developing relationships with construction industry solicitors and influential contacts within construction and civil engineering contractors.
* Analyze project and major programme performance, identifying root causes of distress.
* Lead development of strategies to recover distressed project or programme performance in line with client outcomes.
* Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of client claims and disputes, providing strategic advice on proceedings or claim adjustments.
* Stay updated with developments in your technical area of expertise.
* Manage stakeholder relationships with clients and supply-chain levels, chair meetings as necessary.
* Coach and train your delay analysis team, encouraging their professional growth.
* Act as an industry ambassador for the contract services offered by the consultancy.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Over 10 years of experience in delay, planning, and related construction and engineering fields.
* Experience as a Delay Expert who has testified.
* Significant experience managing programmes, using planning software, and delay analysis techniques.
* Proficiency with Primavera, Asta PowerProject, TILOS, CEMAR, Excel.
* Experience managing multiple delay analyst teams across cases.
* Contributed to expert report sections and prepared to write your own reports.
* Provided specialist delay and forensic advice externally.
* Delivered delay and forensic planning services successfully to clients.
* Experience in developing and pursuing claims within the supply chain.
* Proven work-winning abilities and industry contacts.
* Experience in coaching, training, and recruiting team members.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* A degree in a construction-related field or equivalent qualification.
* MCIArb or FCIArb qualifications are advantageous.
* Desirable: MSc in engineering or Construction Law and Disputes (LLM).
