Process Operative Padeswood | Competitive Salary | Onsite We're looking for a reliable and safety‑focused Process Operative to join our operations team at Padeswood. This hands‑on role is essential in supporting day‑to‑day plant performance through process line checks, housekeeping, autonomous maintenance, and material movement. Flexibility is key, as you'll be involved in a wide variety of operational tasks to help the site meet production targets. Key Responsibilities Health & Safety Promote and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation. Support the creation and review of Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices. Carry out regular site safety inspections. Operational Duties Complete routine and non‑routine process line checks across the plant. Maintain high housekeeping standards, including use of vacuumation units. Assist with diagnosing and resolving production interruptions. Carry out production sampling as required. Perform tower cleaning tasks (Cardox, lancing, high‑pressure water jetting). Move fuels, raw materials, waste and by‑products safely and efficiently. Support various operational tasks such as: Fan blade cleaning Filter bag/cartridge changes Unblocking chutes and hoppers General equipment cleaning and inspections Assist maintenance teams with onsite activities. Perform 1st-line/autonomous maintenance and lubrication tasks. Operate mobile plant and gantry cranes. Conduct environmental checks and compliance monitoring. Role Overview Working within the operations team (shift or day-based), you'll help the plant achieve its production targets. You must be able to work well within a team while also using your own initiative when working independently. What We're Looking For Strong commitment to Health & Safety. Ability to operate mechanical equipment and mobile plant. Good planning, organisational skills, and initiative. Understanding of the cement manufacturing process. Confined space trained (or willing to train). Experience with tower lancing, Cardox, kiln or mill operations (advantage). Competent using IT systems and analytical equipment. Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces. Willingness to support commissioning of new projects. Education & Experience Understanding of Health & Safety requirements. Experience in heavy industry or construction preferred. Light mobile plant qualifications (advantage). GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). Why Join us?
