Job Summary
The Offshore Rope Access Level 2 / Painter Blaster works on a Walk to Work vessel, performing maintenance, painting, and blasting tasks at height using rope access techniques. This role involves a fixed 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation. The individual in this position follows all safety standards and offshore regulations while carrying out tasks efficiently in challenging offshore environments.
Job Duties
* Carry out rope access activities at height on offshore structures using approved safety procedures
* Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and blasting as required for painting and coating
* Apply protective coatings and paints to structural components, following relevant specifications and instructions
* Inspect work areas and equipment to identify hazards or damages and report findings to supervisors
* Maintain and use rope access and painting equipment according to manufacturer guidelines
* Follow permit-to-work procedures and ensure compliance with all offshore and safety regulations
* Document work performed and complete daily reports accurately
* Attend toolbox talks, safety briefings, and required offshore safety meetings
* Assist team members in set-up, dismantling, and storage of rope access systems and painting equipment
* Respond to emergency situations promptly according to company emergency response protocols
* Work closely with supervisors and coordinators to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently and safely
* Comply with all quality standards and environmental guidelines during all activities
* Experience working within a multi-discipline team would be an advantage
Required Qualifications
* Completed Rope Access Level 2 training and certification
* Documented and relevant offshore work experience in rope access and painting/blasting activities
* Fully valid and up-to-date Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) certification
* Valid Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST) certificate
* Valid medical certificate for offshore work as issued by the recognised UK body (OEUK certification)
* Proven ability to work safely and efficiently in offshore and at-height environments
* Good knowledge of surface preparation, coating applications, and blasting techniques
* Strong awareness of health and safety rules and ability to follow procedures precisely
* Ability to communicate clearly and work well within a diverse team
* Willingness to work rotational offshore schedules: 2 weeks working offshore followed by 2 weeks on leave
* Physically fit and able to carry out demanding physical tasks
