Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our workshop environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising technical activities, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality workmanship. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate a team effectively. The Workshop Supervisor will play a vital role in ensuring efficient workflow, equipment maintenance, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate workshop activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely
* Oversee the assembly, maintenance, and repair of equipment
* Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to facilitate accurate assembly and repairs
* Manage inventory of tools, parts, and materials required for various projects
* Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or potential faults
* Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex machinery issues and oversee repairs to minimise downtime
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop environment
* Train and mentor workshop staff to develop their technical skills and promote best practices
Qualifications
* Proven experience in workshop or manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of mechanical systems
* Hands-on experience with assembly, maintenance, equipment repair and use of hand tools and power tools
* Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions
* Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and quality standards
* Computer literacy is critical
* A keen eye for attention to detail
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are desirable but not essential
This role offers an opportunity to work directly with the Engineering Director to help oversea a small team within a well-established organisation dedicated to quality workmanship and safety.

Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
