In addition, the Finance Director provides executive leadership for IT, digital infrastructure, cyber security and information governance, acting as the organisation’s Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) and ensuring digital resilience and robust information governance arrangements are maintained.

You will work across the whole organisation, contributing to governance, assurance, performance reporting and organisational resilience, while providing clear leadership and support to Finance and IT teams.

A successful Finance Director will be responsible for:

Corporate leadership of the organisation’s financial strategy, supporting long‑term sustainability and resilience

Strategic oversight of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management

Monitoring financial performance and providing clear assurance reporting to SLT and the Board of Trustees

Leadership of financial governance, statutory accounts and the annual external audit

This role is ideal for someone who is ready to:

Step into a senior organisational leadership role with strategic influence

Shape and lead the financial strategy of a values‑driven hospice

Work at Senior Leadership Team and Board level, providing assurance and insight

Lead Finance and IT functions during a period of continued organisational development

Play a key role in ensuring the Hospice is well‑led, financially sustainable, compliant and resilient

Apply professional expertise in a setting where values, compassion and impact matter

We are looking for a candidate who:

Has significant senior leadership experience in finance, with Board‑level working

Is confident leading financial strategy, governance, audit and statutory reporting

Has experience of working with regulators, auditors and external stakeholders

Is able to provide assurance on financial sustainability, risk and digital resilience

Has strong leadership, analytical and influencing skills

Is collaborative, pragmatic and solution‑focused

Is motivated by working in a patient‑centred, values‑driven organisation

You will be approachable, credible and confident, able to balance strategic leadership with operational oversight, and comfortable working in a complex and evolving environment.
