Join to apply for the Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist role at Oxford Outcomes located at Acorn Park School – Norfolk NR16 2HU. This is a role within our multidisciplinary clinical team delivering specialist OT services in an education setting.
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs.
* Work within the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working to guide practice in an education setting.
* Hold an occupational therapy caseload with support from your clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Collaborate with the education team to support pupils’ independence and development.
* Engage in safeguarding and person-centred practice, supporting pupils to thrive and participate in decisions affecting them.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* HCPC registered and member of RCOT
* Relevant experience in LD, SEMH, neurodivergence
* Enhanced knowledge of OT theory and practical application
* Experience of multidisciplinary working with some responsibility for service and team performance
* Experience of communicating with/working with families, relatives and carers
* Good communication, relationship, analytical and judgement skills
* Understanding of the relationship between behaviour and communication
* Understanding of physical needs, dexterity, coordination and sensory skills for assessment and treatment
* Knowledge of a range of approaches relating to neurodivergence, learning disability and trauma-informed practice
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
* Good clinical reasoning and ability to express rationale
* Ability to engage in quality improvement and enhanced service delivery
* Understanding of information governance, confidentiality and record keeping
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and support supervision of staff/students
* Knowledge of assessment tools, intervention programmes and treatment planning from various OT modalities
* Evidence of CPD and ongoing self-development
* Full driving licence and access to a car; willingness to travel on company business
* Flexible, creative problem solver; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable Criteria
* 3+ years practicing as an OT
* Postgraduate study in Sensory Integration and/or developmental trauma and/or sensory attachment
Location
Acorn Park School – Norfolk NR16 2HU (part of Options Autism).
Hours/Contract
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, overlapping with core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered. Permanent 52 weeks.
