We are currently seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our prestigious Permanence Team based in Ellesmere Port. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to critical family and children services through a 13-month contract, with competitive pay rates and a supportive working environment.
About the Role – Social Worker
As a Social Worker - (Children’s and Families) within our Permanence Team, your primary responsibilities will include supporting children and families through complex cases, ensuring effective permanency planning, and safeguarding children in care. You will work in close collaboration with experienced professionals to deliver high-quality services that promote stability and positive outcomes for children. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience within a Permanence Team or working directly with Children in Care.
Your key responsibilities will involve:
Managing a manageable caseload with the support of supervision and team resources
Conducting assessments, planning, and reviewing case progress
Developing and implementing permanency plans tailored to each child's needs
Working collaboratively with foster carers, adoptive families, and external agencies
Upholding safeguarding standards at all times
Maintaining detailed, accurate case records in line with policy and statutory requirements
Participating in regular team meetings, supervision, and CPD activitiesCandidate Responsibilities
Bring significant experience working within a Permanence Team or with Children in Care
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Have a full UK driving license and reside within reasonable distance to Ellesmere Port (please indicate location on CV)
