Job Location: Devens, MA
Job Summary:
The primary responsibilities include referencing and retrieving master programs for new jobs, setting up and utilizing CNC programs to control platform and movement, downloading programs into controllers, and operating various CNC production equipment within the YAG/Metals Department.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
* Operate Nd YAG lasers and use shield gases (Argon, Helium, Nitrogen) to prevent visual discoloration when required.
* Utilize process parameters in welding: pulse width or width, frequency or rate, and PFN or height.
* Be knowledgeable about different welding materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, and aluminum.
* Set up jobs and determine the required fixtures.
* Follow established policies and procedures to ensure proper steps are followed, enabling passing of 1st and 2nd piece inspections.
* Observe all safety precautions when using YAG-based machines, follow quality procedures, and communicate issues through appropriate channels (supervisors, managers, sales, QA).
* Adapt to working on different products constantly.
* Work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
* At least 3 years of relevant experience.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
* Ability to read G-code and set up CNC machines.
* Experience with microscope work, including inspections and alignments.
* Proficiency in using measuring devices such as Verniers, Pin Gages, and CMMs.
* Experience operating CNC laser machines.
* Understanding of process parameters and programming knowledge.
* Follow guidelines to handle welded parts to prevent contamination and damage.
* Experience with manufacturing or job tracking software.
* Effective time management skills.
* Professional demeanor.
Physical Demands:
Must occasionally stand and walk, lift and move up to 30 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate.
