I'm working with a fast-growing, award-winning consultancy that's looking to appoint a Principal or Associate Transport Planner to join their expanding Oxford team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport planning professional looking to step into a more senior position with genuine influence over project delivery, client relationships, team development and business growth.
The role would suit someone who enjoys a mix of technical delivery, project leadership and client-facing responsibility, while still remaining involved in a varied portfolio of development-led projects.
The Role
You'll take a leading role across a range of transport planning projects, working closely with clients, local authorities and internal teams to deliver high-quality advice and commercially aware solutions.
Projects span residential, mixed-use, commercial, logistics, education and regeneration schemes, offering varied and technically interesting work.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage transport planning projects from inception through to completion
* Prepare and review:
o Transport Assessments
o Transport Statements
o Travel Plans
o Access Appraisals
o Technical Notes
* Oversee junction capacity modelling and transport analysis using:
o TRICS
o Junctions (ARCADY / PICADY)
o Other transport modelling software
* Manage client relationships and attend stakeholder meetings
* Liaise with Local Highway Authorities and multidisciplinary design teams
* Support and mentor junior team members
* Assist with project financial management and fee proposals
* Contribute to business development and work-winning activities
Skills & Experience Required
* Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or related discipline
* Strong experience within development-led transport planning
* Ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients
* Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports
* Knowledge of relevant planning policy and transport guidance
* Experience with:
o AutoCAD
o TRICS
o Junctions (ARCADY / PICADY)
o Transport modelling tools
* Commercial awareness and leadership capability
* Chartered status or working toward chartership is beneficial
