Job Description:
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
We're seeking an experienced communications and engagement professional to become a vital part of our team.
You will play a key role in our team, taking responsibility for specific projects and delivering communications to over 14,000 staff members and external stakeholders, including communities, partners, and media outlets. We're looking for a creative individual to develop and deliver innovative engagement opportunities that involve and inspire both internal and external audiences.
Essential qualifications include experience in communications, public relations, media, or marketing, ideally supported by a relevant professional qualification and experience in public/community engagement. Digital communications are particularly important, alongside print materials, media releases, and statements.
You will be instrumental in shaping our online presence, contributing to content management for our website, intranet, and social media platforms as part of a collaborative team.
We value exceptional interpersonal skills, resilience, organization, and comfort working with diverse groups. NHS experience is a plus but not mandatory; your ability to quickly adapt, bring creativity to campaigns, demonstrate stakeholder engagement best practices, and produce engaging content is highly valued.
This role may involve travel across the Tayside region, so the ability to travel is essential.
For informal inquiries, contact Jane Duncan, Director of Communications and Engagement, at 01382 740717.
Work hours: 37 hours per week.
You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
