A well-established and highly profitable commercial organisation is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee a complex fleet and workshop operation. Your New Role
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all Operator's Licence requirements and UK and EU transport legislation across multiple operating centres. You will lead and support audits and inspections, manage vehicle allocation and fuel efficiency, and work closely with local contracts. A key part of the role involves overseeing driver compliance, including Driver CPC, licence checks, driver hours and tachograph regulations, alongside the management of vehicle maintenance, inspections and defect rectification.
You will provide leadership across workshop locations and technician teams, ensuring all activities meet standards, and health and safety requirements. You will also play a critical role in risk identification, performance reporting, accident management, stakeholder engagement and driving continuous improvement, with a strong focus on safety, compliance and operational efficiency.
What You'll Need to Succeed
* A current Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in National Road Haulage or National Passenger Transport
* A full, clean UK Class 1 driving licence
* Significant operational experience within the logistics or transportation industry
* Strong knowledge of Operator's Licence compliance, OCRS scores and DVSA requirements
* Proven experience managing vehicle maintenance, workshops and technician teams
* A solid understanding of fleet engineering and workshop environments
* Excellent organisational, administrative and analytical skills
* Strong leadership, decision-making and stakeholder management capabilities
