RF Power is a growing business unit, developing systems in the Healthcare and Novel System markets, alongside an established product portfolio across a range of industries. We are seeking a highly organised, experienced and results driven manager ready to make a real impact and accountable for delivering consistent performance and measurable results in a high mix low volume manufacturing environment.
Main Accountabilities
The role is responsible for translating the operational strategy and roadmap into day-to-day execution, leading the site-based team in all warehouse and logistics activities for RF Power and some additional support for our Space Imaging business unit.
The successful candidate will drive sustained improvements in productivity, service, safety and quality through strong leadership, performance management and standardisation while ensuring cost effective and timely distribution to both our internal and external customers.
Focus will be on inventory management, continuous improvement and data reporting implementing new ways of working and driving best practice to deliver value, efficiency, and resilience across the supply chain. The ability to manage change, influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization are essential.
Lead all Warehouse, Inventory and Shipping activities for RF Power ensuring material availability, accuracy and timely action.
Develop and implement warehouse, inventory and logistics strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
Implement best practices in warehouse, inventory and logistics to support operational objectives.
Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to ensure quality, service, delivery, compliance, and innovation.
Ensure full compliance with all relevant health and safety, legal, regulatory, and company requirements, embedding a strong safety culture and consistent adherence to standards across all sites.
Drive process optimization and continuous improvement within the function and associated systems.
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and Finance to ensure integrated business planning and effective information flow.
Maintain, propose and manage warehouse, inventory and logistics metrics / key performance indicators (KPI's) providing timely and accurate reporting, analysis, and insights to support decision-making.
Lead, coach and develop, and inspire the warehouse and logistics team, fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth across a team of 3 direct and 16 indirect reports building leadership capability, depth and succession within the company.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards in all activities.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a liaison between the warehouse and shipping function and other business units.
Essential Experience & Skills
Customer focused, with significant experience in warehouse and logistics management in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, transport management, and third‑party logistics provider oversight, with a focus on safety, quality, and cost control.
Excellent communication, with the ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience with ERP systems (ideally SAP S4 Hana).
Strong man management, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to bring teams on a change journey.
Demonstrable experience of leading and developing teams, including performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
Proven experience of implementing standard operating procedures and driving continuous improvement initiatives within an operational setting.
Sound understanding of health and safety and relevant regulatory requirements within a warehouse and logistics environment in the UK.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) and ERP systems.
Ability to work at pace under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
Experience in high mix low volume manufacturing / highly engineered complex products.
Knowledge of SI&OP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) / IBP (Integrated Business Planning).
Experience / knowledge of Known Consignor (KC) and Government Funded Equipment (GFE).
Understanding of Outsourcing and 'Free Issue' material process.
Training, COSHH, Manual Handling and Fork Truck Management.
