Responsibilities
* Lead a team of specialist extend consultants on a project, ensuring the successful delivery of extend solutions for the cloud‑based Workday system.
* Work closely with customers to scope, gather requirements, document, implement, deploy and support applications using the Workday Extend platform toolset.
* Build strong relationships with customers to understand their requirements, ensuring the solution is aligned to their needs, fit for purpose and commercially viable.
* Serve as a key contributor to guiding, developing and educating others within the Workday practice on the area of Extend.
Qualifications
* Proficiency with XML, REST, SOAP, JSON, and object‑oriented programming languages.
* Experience designing applications to solve business and technical problems.
* Good understanding of cloud computing, web services and associated challenges.
* Excellent customer focus, able to assess customer needs, build relationships and manage customer expectations.
* Strong communication skills, able to communicate with customers and colleagues with impact, credibility and empathy, including in a remote working situation.
* Formal presentation ability to senior client audiences.
* Strong commercial awareness and full understanding of project and business dynamics.
* Broad business and technology understanding with awareness of industry trends in HR and HR technology.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure, taking a balanced view of customer demands and Kainos commercials.
Desirable
* Workday HCM Certified, or experience with similar HCM/ERP systems.
* Proficiency in other middleware/application development platforms.
* Proficiency in object‑oriented or web development languages.
* Experience designing workflows to solve business and technical problems.
* Experience managing, mentoring and developing teams.
People Management
* Agree setting and reviewing goals aligned to Kainos and the Workday practice.
* Provide support so goals can be achieved and review performance against goals.
* Conduct 1:1 and project feedback meetings; provide regular feedback in Workday.
* Complete End‑of‑Year reviews and agree outcomes.
* Identify training and support career paths.
* Review workload forecasting, utilisation, and participate in recruitment and retention activities.
