Role: Field-Based Reliability Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Working Arrangement:Field-based
Salary: Up to £48k
Are you curious about how things fail – and passionate about making them work better?
Our client is a leader in data-led reliability services, supporting blue-chip organisations across FMCG, food & beverage, packaging, and wider industrial sectors. They use advanced tools and techniques – from vibration analysis and ultrasound, through to thermography and oil sampling – to keep production running, improve uptime, and reduce costs.
Now, they're looking for a practical, hands-on engineer to join their growing team.
Why This Role?
This isn't about ticking boxes or filling in checklists. It's about using cutting-edge condition-based monitoring (CBM) techniques to uncover issues before they become failures, and giving clients clear, actionable insight that builds trust and delivers real value.
You'll gain exposure to a wide range of industries and technologies, work alongside expert engineers, and have the chance to develop both your technical and client-facing skills.
What You'll Do
* Carry out CBM surveys and inspections using vibration analysis, ultrasound, thermography, oil sampling, and high-speed data capture
* Collect and interpret reliable data to diagnose issues early and prevent costly failures
* Communicate findings clearly to both technicians and senior managers
* Support CBM training and contribute to continuous improvement projects
* Travel to client sites across the UK (company vehicle provided after probation)
What We're Looking For
* Experience in CBM, reliability engineering, or other hands-on engineering work
* A genuine interest in engineering and a drive to solve problems
* Strong communication skills, able to engage confidently at all levels
* Independence, reliability, and good time management
* A full UK or EU driving license
Formal qualifications are less important than curiosity, integrity, and a strong work ethic. If you take pride in doing the job right, enjoy solving real-world problems, and want to make a visible impact, this could be the ideal next step.
We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
