As a member of the team works co‑operatively with the multi‑disciplinary team. The post holder will ensure the highest possible standards of care are received by patients and their carers while in the units. Works within agreed boundaries of practice giving support to the nurse in charge of the shift and other members of the senior nursing team.

Responsibilities
* To work effectively as a team member in providing and facilitating a high standard of nursing, social and rehabilitative support in the urgent care setting.
* Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, participate in undertaking prescribed treatments for patients.
* To report variances in a patient's condition or any concerns immediately to a relevant professional.
* To maintain standards of cleanliness of the UTC/CAU and patient areas.
* To undertake nursing tasks under the supervision of a qualified practitioner i.e., vital signs.
* To work with other team members to meet nutritional needs of patients using the service when appropriate.
* To support the use of prescribed equipment if necessary and practice its safe use with the patient (e.g. walking frames, crutches).
* To liaise with members of the team within the department, ensuring care is delivered to the patient both effectively and efficiently.
* To support the trained nursing team ensuring the maintenance of high standards of nursing care. To provide Personal Care to patients, including nutrition, hygiene, and toileting, and to foster patients independence.
* Has a responsibility in ensuring the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues is respected at all times.
