2-month contract position with a local authority
Summary
* This is a 2-month contract position with a local authority, aimed at managing and maintaining a residential site on behalf of Property Services. The role is crucial for ensuring the premises are safe, compliant, and well-maintained, working closely with the residential team to provide a secure and functional environment.
Responsibilities
* Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance across the site.
* Ensure all building compliance checks and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
* Collaborate with the residential team to maintain a safe and functional environment for children and staff.
* Identify and report any major issues or hazards requiring further attention.
* Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of communal areas and external grounds.
* Support emergency repairs and respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests.
* Liaise with contractors and Property Services as needed.
Essential Experience
* Previous experience in a site maintenance or technician role, preferably within residential or care settings.
* Basic knowledge of building compliance and health & safety regulations.
* Ability to carry out minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
Essential Qualifications
* Relevant vocational qualification in building maintenance or a related field – desirable.
* Health & Safety training or certification – desirable.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 25 hours per week
* The position is for 5 hours per day, 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM, including a ½ hour unpaid lunch break.
