Data Engineer — Higher Education Consortium (Top 20 UK Universities)
Location: London (Hybrid — 3 days onsite)
Candidates must have SaaS or worked in a scale up, product company.

We are partnering with a a leading client to hire a Data Engineer to help modernise data platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable cloud data solutions using Python, AWS, and SQL in a collaborative academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
* Design cloud-based data solutions on AWS
* Develop and optimise SQL-based data models and warehouses
* Work with analysts, researchers, and engineering teams
* Improve data quality, governance, and automation
* Support real-time and batch data processing workflows
* Contribute to architecture and platform decisions
Required Skills
* Advanced SQL skills
* Commercial experience with AWS services:
* S3
* Lambda
* Glue
* Redshift
* RDS
* Experience building data pipelines and orchestration workflows
* Understanding of data warehousing and modelling concepts
* Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices
Nice to Have
* Airflow or Prefect
* Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
* Spark or Databricks
* Experience in higher education, research, or public sector environments
