Abingdon & Witney College is looking to recruit an Electrical & Electronic Lecturer to join our Technology department. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to both full-time learners (Study Programmes) and apprentices across a range of qualifications from Level 2 to Level 4.
Whether you're an experienced lecturer or a qualified industry professional looking for a new career path in education, we want to hear from you. We provide full support and training to help you transition into teaching if you're new to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and practical lessons in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
* Teach across a range of provision including full-time learners and apprenticeship programmes.
* Plan and prepare teaching materials aligned with awarding body requirements and industry standards.
* Support, assess and track student and apprentice progress in both theory and practical elements.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality, industry-relevant curriculum.
* Maintain accurate records for attendance, progress, and assessment.
* Work with curriculum teams to support apprenticeships.
* Promote safe working practices and ensure health and safety compliance in workshop and lab environments.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
* BSc in Electronic Engineering, City & Guild / NVQ Level 3 (or higher) qualifications in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
* Strong industry experience within the electrical/electronic engineering sector.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality learning experiences.
Desirable (but not essential):
* Previous teaching, mentoring, or training experience.
* Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, Level 5 DET).
* Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, A1).
* Experience working with apprentices or young learners.
