Your Role as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
As an LPN, you will provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care settings. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, you will:
* Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
* Contribute to resident assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
* Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
* Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Graduated from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; an Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
* Experience in IV therapy/management if required by the position.
* A minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility, or completion of a pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience.
* An unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing Board and/or multi-state licensure privileges.
* Commitment to ongoing education and competency training.
