Reservoir Maintenance Operative
Location: Henfield (will include travel across our sites with some overnight stays)
Salary: up to £30,000 depending on experience
Must have UK driving license
Job Summary:
To be a key member of Southern Waters in house service reservoir clean and inspection team. The team are responsible for all Southern Waters service reservoirs across the regions. The work itself covers all aspects of reservoir cleaning, inspections, maintenance and repairs internally and externally. The team work to a programme delivering a vital work stream where each structure’s service comes within a time frame which complies with our regulators expectations.
The role requires somebody who enjoys working in a team that for the majority of the time work outside all year round.
You will become part of a confined space team / rescue team. Maintaining and reporting on the condition of Southern Waters service reservoirs and ancillary assets across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Being a key member within a team that is relied on by Southern Water.
Job Qualifications:
1. Pass grades A-C in GCSE Maths and English
2. Valid driver’s license required
3. Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights
4. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
5. Knowledge of water treatment processes and procedures preferred
6. Experience working with water quality regulations and permits preferred
7. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
8. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
9. Rescue team (All members of the team Level 3 C&G Emergency Rescue and Recovery of Casualties From Confined Spaces) is desirable
10. Trained to level 2 C&G Working In High Risk Confined Spaces is desirable
