This is an opportunity to join the Adult Mental Health Directorate in Newham on a 12-month fixed-term post. The post has become available due to the substantive post-holder taking a sabbatical. The post holder will work alongside two other liaison consultant psychiatrists in the Newham Mental Health Liaison and Psychological Medicine Service. This service caters to adults of working age and older adults at Newham University Hospital, providing a comprehensive, age-inclusive liaison psychiatry service across A&E and inpatient settings.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver:
1. Consultant-led assessment and management of service users with mental health needs attending A&E and admitted to wards at Newham University Hospital.
2. Effective clinical leadership.
3. Advice and consultation to colleagues.
4. Training and education.
5. Effective supervision.
