Overview
Basildon Pitsea – We are a 24-hour RCVS-accredited small animal hospital located about 30 minutes by train from London, with direct transport links to Southend and Stansted airports. We’re also a 25-minute drive from the seaside.
Our large team includes 14 vets, with surgical and medical certificate holders. Some are pursuing certificates in surgery, orthopaedics, cardiology, exotics and medicine. Our nursing team includes many Schedule 3 and imaging-trained professionals, along with post-graduate certificates. We also have a Hydrotherapist, 2 Physiotherapists, and 10 Client Care Advisers. Our facilities feature a CT scanner and we have recently expanded services to include MRI, Hydrotherapy, Physiotherapy, and rehabilitation. We provide gold-standard inpatient care, plus first opinion small animal services and outpatient services such as emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, CT/MRI imaging, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and laser therapy.
Role
Veterinary Surgeon – Basildon Pitsea
We are seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon with a surgical bias who thrives in a vibrant, forward-thinking environment and is committed to clinical excellence. An interest in laparoscopic surgery is beneficial but not essential. You should be a competent surgeon able to perform standard emergency procedures and manage complex medical cases.
We offer a great work-life balance with a 4-day week and 1 in 4 weekends. You will work a 40-hour rota with no out-of-hours duties, plus a minimal on-call rota (about 3–4 times a year). We are flexible and happy to consider part-time applicants, provided you can work 1 in 4 weekends.
