The Opportunity
Were seeking a commercially focused Procurement Leader to shape and deliver the franchising procurement strategy that will transform how bus services operate across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield..
Key Responsibilities
Lead procurement for bus franchising, ensuring compliance with UK regulations.
Develop and deliver a strategic, value-driven procurement approach.
Oversee risk management and contract management practices.
Provide expert commercial guidance and drive best practice across the organisation.
Build strong partnerships with stakeholders and ensure performance excellence.
You will need:
Full MCIPS membership (or equivalent professional expertise)
Strong knowledge of UK procurement regulations and public sector practices
Proven senior leadership experience in procurement, ideally within government
Commercially astute and strategically minded
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Collaborative, resilient, and able to build strong stakeholder relationships
