Delivery Portfolio Lead - Naval Nuclear Propulsion
Salary range: £75,000 to £90,000 per annum • Location: Any Frazer-Nash Office Location, Burton-upon-Trent preferred • Working Pattern: Flexible hybrid (office, client sites, and home) • Closing date: 5pm on Monday 6 October 2025
To support continued growth and uphold our reputation for trusted delivery into the naval nuclear industry, Frazer-Nash is seeking at least one Delivery Portfolio Lead to join the naval nuclear propulsion portfolio. The Delivery Portfolio Lead holds operational responsibility and leads the delivery governance function for all projects within their portfolio. They provide customer-focused guidance on technical, project and campaign matters to Project Managers and Bid Managers within their delegated client-facing portfolio.
The role involves delegated responsibility for project performance targets, contract acceptance approvals, and consultation on bid/no-bid decisions for opportunities in their area. The Delivery Portfolio Lead may be asked to provide client-specific mentoring and coaching, and may functionally manage a team of deployed resources as needed for capability staff assigned at an account level over long periods.
Frazer-Nash has supported the UK’s submarine nuclear fleet for over 20 years. The naval nuclear portfolio covers Engineering Services for the UK Submarine Reactor and Novel Nuclear programmes, emphasizing delivery of larger capability-driven programmes. Frazer-Nash is a Tier 1 partner providing submarine nuclear reactor design, analysis, manufacture, assurance and in-service support. Currently, approximately 140 staff support delivery into the portfolio.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape delivery and contribute to key projects across the UK’s nuclear landscape.
Responsibilities
* Provide operational leadership for the delivery governance function across all projects in the portfolio.
* Offer customer-focused guidance on technical, project, and campaign matters to Project Managers and Bid Managers in the Capability dimension.
* Hold delegated responsibility for project performance targets and contract acceptance approvals; participate in bid/no-bid decisions for opportunities in the portfolio area.
* Mentor and coach client-specific teams as required; may manage a team of deployed resources at an account level over extended periods.
* Collaborate with multi-discipline capability channels to deliver a coherent delivery stream for naval nuclear projects.
* Engage in continuous improvement and alignment with Frazer-Nash and client objectives within the naval nuclear portfolio.
Qualifications / Experience (as suggested by description)
* Experience leading delivery governance for multiple projects within a defined portfolio.
* Ability to provide guidance to Project Managers and Bid Managers on technical and campaign matters.
* Experience mentoring/coaching and functionally managing a team of resources at an account level.
* Familiarity with multi-discipline capability channels and integration into a single delivery stream.
* Knowledge of naval nuclear engineering projects and related sectors is advantageous.
