Are you ready to take the next step in your healthcare career? We're excited to offer a new apprenticeship opportunity for a Senior Healthcare Assistant Apprentice within our Acute Medicine Inpatient Wards and Emergency Department. This role is ideal for individuals with some care experience who are passionate about delivering high-quality, responsive care in dynamic clinical settings.

Important Eligibility Criteria

* This is an apprenticeship; applicants must have resided in the UK for 3 years or more.
* Due to funding rules, candidates who have previously worked as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker are not eligible.
* Applicants must not hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in healthcare.

As a Senior Healthcare Assistant Apprentice, you'll support patients during critical moments in their care journey, under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include:

* Supporting patients with hygiene, toileting, and mobility
* Assisting with catheter and stoma care
* Monitoring patient output and removing catheters
* Taking and recording vital signs and blood sugars
* Observing patients for changes in condition
* Assisting with wound care, dressings, and venflon removal
* Supporting safe patient movement and positioning
* Maintaining skin integrity and assessing pressure areas

This fast-paced environment requires compassion, resilience, and teamwork. We support your development from day one, helping you gain healthcare qualifications and meet NHS standards. Opportunities for progression include becoming a Trainee Nurse Associate (Level 4) or a Registered Nurse.

Work shifts include early, late, twilight, and nights, ensuring 24/7 patient care. We look forward to meeting you at our interview and assessment days—come prepared to showcase your passion and potential!

* Assist in providing high-quality, personalized care according to standards
* Present a positive image of yourself, your team, and the organization
* Update patient records accurately and promptly
* Help meet patients' nutritional needs per their care plans
* Maintain patient safety in line with health and safety legislation
* Contribute to improving patient care and outcomes
* Promote equality and meet individual needs and choices
* Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic care environment
* Communicate effectively with Registered Nurses
* Develop your own skills and competence
* Assist in resolving issues and complaints, reporting outcomes to your line manager
