Important Eligibility Criteria
* This is an apprenticeship; applicants must have resided in the UK for 3 years or more.
* Due to funding rules, candidates who have previously worked as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker are not eligible.
* Applicants must not hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in healthcare.
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant Apprentice, you'll support patients during critical moments in their care journey, under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include:
* Supporting patients with hygiene, toileting, and mobility
* Assisting with catheter and stoma care
* Monitoring patient output and removing catheters
* Taking and recording vital signs and blood sugars
* Observing patients for changes in condition
* Assisting with wound care, dressings, and venflon removal
* Supporting safe patient movement and positioning
* Maintaining skin integrity and assessing pressure areas
This fast-paced environment requires compassion, resilience, and teamwork. We support your development from day one, helping you gain healthcare qualifications and meet NHS standards. Opportunities for progression include becoming a Trainee Nurse Associate (Level 4) or a Registered Nurse.
