Job Description:
Spencer Ogden is partnered with a technology company who are resourcing for a senior Electrical Engineer – Solar PV & BESS. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a world leading company with an established and expert team. Projects are predominately located throughout the UK and Ireland. The successful Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and planning ground mounted PV systems and utility-scale Battery Energy Storage projects, ensuring the smooth implementation of projects across the UK. You will collaborate with various teams and designers across the business to ensure planning conditions, customer requirements, and electrical requirements are aligned, and assist with vetting various electrical suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Layouts (for solar PV and BESS), energy yield assessments, solar PV and BESS technology assessment, tender preparation and negotiation
2. Develop reliable and cost-effective customer focused BESS designs in support of energy storage development teams
3. Establish and maintain the engineering design criteria, applicable standards and specifications for BESS projects
4. Support the development, review and technical oversight of all engineering and design of energy storage projects
5. Project management and interfacing between engineering disciplines
Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience as an Engineer within the renewable energy sector
* Proven experience within renewables energies such as BESS, Solar or Wind
* Successfully completed university degree in Electrical, Renewables or Industrial engineering
* Experience in Renewables, Battery storage, EPC and hybrid system (solar/wind plus storage)
* Experience on BOP/BOS level (Cable calculation, Civils) incl. MV-Substation Engineering or even up to HV-Substation Engineering
* Experience with large-scale Solar PV plants in UK, working either on the Developer, EPC Contractor or Technical Advisor side
* A knowledge of ground mount and floating solar PV from a technical perspective, relevant industry publications, recommended practices and guidance
* Experience with PVCase, PVsyst, AutoCAD and programming skills
