Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stafford, a category C Prison located in the West Midlands. HMP Stafford is a male prison with a capacity of 753, 45% of the population is over 50. Working as a Pharmacy Technician, you will be based within the healthcare department and may have some wing‑based work.
Hours
* Monday – Sunday service
* 37.5 hours per week over 4 days
* 7:45 am – 5:30 pm
* 1 weekend and 3 bank holidays per rota
* 6‑week rolling rota
Salary
Full‑time contract. Annual salary £29,264 – £33,510 (FTE) depending on experience.

Main duties
* Provide outstanding quality patient‑centred care by listening to and acting on patient feedback, personalising care and ensuring it is informed by what matters to them.
* Deliver a safe and secure medicines management service, maintaining patient medical records to the agreed standard and following SOPs to a high and orderly standard.
* Administer medicines and analyse cost‑effective prescribing as defined by the unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
* Experience in hospital, community or prison environment (desirable)
