37.5 hours per weekSunday - Thursday 10pm - 6am Are you an experienced leader in large-scale logistics and inventory, with a proven track record in fast-paced warehouse/distribution centre operations? We're looking for a highly motivated and energetic Night Shift Manager to assist our Distribution Operations Manager in the everyday running of our Distribution Centre. To ensure efficient, unified team operations, managing picking and despatch to guarantee accurate and timely delivery of all scheduled orders. You will take responsibility for Health & Safety and all operational functions, working closely with Team Leaders to maximise productivity and throughput while maintaining high levels of accuracy and a strong customer focus. Key Responsibilities:
1. Health and Safety: Effectively manage health and safety across all areas, ensuring adherence to SOPs and SSOW, investigating incidents, identifying trends, and implementing improvements.
2. Customer Focus: Ensure your team understands and consistently delivers on internal and external customer expectations, managing quality and accuracy of department output, and rectifying any deviations.
3. People Management: Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of up to 10 direct reports and 120 indirect reports. Manage recruitment, sickness, absence, and employee relations in line with company policy. Conduct daily briefs and regular individual meetings to monitor objectives and performance.
4. Operations: Work with Team Leaders to maintain efficient team operations, optimise DC throughput, and ensure accurate and on-time despatch of all scheduled deliveries. Monitor MHE, report faults, and identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
What you'll bring
5. Experience in a large-scale logistics and inventory warehouse environment
6. Experience in managing warehouse operations using manual process such as dashboards and spreadsheets (we are in the process of finding a suitable WMS)
7. Knowledge and experience of fast-paced warehouse/distribution centre operations.
8. Ability to effectively lead, train, and coach individuals and groups, knowing how to get the best out of people and foster a collaborative culture
9. Proven ability to handle pressure and make business-critical decisions.
10. Energetic, positive, and highly motivated with effective communication skills.
11. Strong planning and strategic thinking.
12. Ability to participate in and lead projects such as WMS integration
