Epsom College is a co-educational day and boarding school with approximately 1070 pupils aged 11-18. The College is located approximately one mile from Epsom town, below Epsom Downs, in fine buildings set in a beautiful tree filled campus of some 80 acres. Originally founded by The Royal Medical Benevolent Foundation, today the College strives to develop the individual talents of every girl and boy. Pupils are prepared for life beyond the College with an assured set of values and with the belief that they can make a difference in society. Job Purpose
We are seeking an outstanding IT Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our school's IT infrastructure and support services. This is a pivotal role in a dynamic and forward-thinking independent school, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the digital experience of over 1,800 users. You will be responsible for managing the school's network, overseeing the IT helpdesk, and ensuring the smooth delivery of IT services across the school. You will work closely with the Director of Digital and Information Systems to implement the school's digital strategy and will play a key role in driving service improvement and innovation.
Main Duties
* Lead and manage the IT operations team, including the Network & Security Manager and Lead Technician.
* Oversee the delivery of IT support services to approximately 1,800 users (students and staff), ensuring high levels of service and user satisfaction.
* Act as the final point of escalation for complex (Tier 3) technical issues.
* Manage the school's Microsoft 365 environment and devices.
* Maintain and develop the College Network and cloud-first infrastructure.
* Take ownership of cybersecurity, including firewall management and safeguarding systems.
* Work with the Director to implement the digital strategy and identify opportunities for innovation.
* Manage day-to-day IT purchasing and supplier relationships, ensuring value for money and alignment with school needs.
* Ensure appropriate staffing of the helpdesk during operational hours and contribute to the out-of-hours on-call rota.
* Uphold the school's safeguarding responsibilities in all aspects of IT provision.
