As a Science Teacher at this welcoming secondary school, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality science education to students across Key Stage 3 and 4 (Years 7-11). You will play a crucial role in fostering a love for science, encouraging critical thinking, and preparing students for their GCSEs and beyond.
Responsibilities:
1. Planning, preparing, and delivering outstanding Science lessons to students from Year 7 to Year 11, ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum.
2. Assessing, monitoring, recording, and reporting on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils.
3. Creating a positive, stimulating, and challenging learning environment that inspires and motivates students.
4. Utilising a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
5. Participating in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attainment.
7. Fostering strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
8. Desirable: Ability to teach Science at A-Level
Requirements:
9. QTS desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
10. Proven experience teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and 4 (Years 7-11) in a UK secondary school.
11. A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Science.
12. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
13. Passion for your subject and a genuine desire to inspire students.
14. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
15. Commitment to continuous professional development.
16. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
