Overview
Join as a Principal Environmental EIA consultant with AECOM. You will manage environmental inputs to EIA Screening and Scoping reports, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, Environmental Considerations Reports and supporting documents, including the technical review of specialist chapters. You will work across project life stages from early strategy development and site identification through feasibility, option selection, design, construction, and operation. The role offers flexibility in office location (Dublin, Cork, Galway) and a hybrid working model within a national team of over 170 ESG-aligned professionals.
As part of a national team, you will contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects that transform our infrastructure and support Ireland\'s net zero commitments, collaborating with technical experts within our Impact Assessment team and aligning with our ESG strategy.
Responsibilities
 * Provide Expertise: Manage environmental inputs to EIA screening, scoping, and reports; conduct technical reviews of specialist chapters; contribute across project life cycles from strategy through operation; work on projects under Local Authority applications, SID, and other consenting regimes.
 * Ensure Quality: Deliver high-quality outputs compliant with our quality management procedures.
 * Project Management: Manage resources and budgets with appropriate support.
 * Collaborate: Work with integrated design teams to identify environmental constraints and mitigation opportunities and maximize benefits.
 * Client Contact: Manage client relationships and coordination with internal supply teams.
 * Growth: Promote environmental services, identify business development opportunities, and contribute to fee and technical proposals.
Qualifications
 * A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (Masters preferred) and appropriate professional membership (Chartered Environmentalist preferred).
 * Comprehensive EIA consultancy experience with proven ability to manage environmental reports and review specialist chapters.
 * Strong understanding of Irish consenting regimes and environmental legislation.
 * Ability to lead cross-disciplinary technical teams and work closely with clients to provide bespoke advice.
 * Project management skills including programming, resource and budget management.
 * Commitment to innovation and continuing professional development; interest in line management and staff mentoring.
 * Developing skills in leading business development opportunities; strong verbal and written communication and stakeholder engagement.
