Consultant Paediatrician with interest in Neurodisability

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in neurodisability. This is for 10 programmed activities.
South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a motivated and passionate consultant paediatrician. The post is a substantive position. It will be based in the paediatric department of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will work as an integral member of the Neurodisability team and contribute to service developments.
The Directorate of Paediatrics offers services across Sunderland and South Tyneside, including neonatology, general paediatrics, community paediatrics, and paediatric emergency medicine.
Timetables offer a degree of flexibility; the type of clinic activity is negotiable, depending on service needs and the skills and experience of the successful postholder.

Main duties of the job
Applicants should have, or be able to obtain within 6 months of interview, a CCT in Paediatrics or an equivalent qualification (and/or be included on the GMC's Specialist Register or be eligible for inclusion).

The postholder will join the existing team of Disability Consultants, Associate Specialists, and specialist nurses.
Responsibilities include contributing to the strategic and operational delivery of the service across South Tyneside and Sunderland, reflecting national and local priorities, including the strategic direction of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and the Division of Family Care.
Final job plans will be discussed with the successful candidates and the Clinical Director and will be subject to annual review.

Qualifications
* Hold a CCST or CCT in Paediatrics and be on the GMC's Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of registration.
* Membership of RCPCH.
* Experience in academic research, including presentations and publications.
* Additional qualifications in teaching or educational supervision.
Experience
* ND grid training or relevant recent ND work experience.
* Experience in developing multidisciplinary clinical groups.
