Location: Winchester Rural, Hart, Rushmoor, Alton, and Test Valley
Salary: Volunteer
Hours: Max. 15 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Monday 22nd September 2025 at 23:59 hours
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will engage with rural communities via high visibility patrols. Key responsibilities include:
1. Assist in providing a high visible mounted presence to reassure rural residents.
2. Maintain regular contact with the Country Watch Team and Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), ensuring duty reports and feedback are completed and shared.
3. Share relevant information and intelligence with NPT and the Country Watch Team.
4. Participate in Continued Professional Development training as required.
5. Assist with community events to raise awareness of the role.
6. Provide regular and effective service.
Essential Experience
* Be fit and competent to conduct mounted patrols on various terrains.
* Volunteer for a minimum of 2 hours per week, not exceeding 15 hours.
* Own a horse or have permission from the owner to undertake mounted rural patrols.
