Soudal (UK) Ltd, one of its main subsidiaries with a turnover of over £90 million and close to 80 staff, located in Tamworth B77 5PN, is looking for a Warehouse Manager, reporting to Supply Chain Manager.
Responsibilities
:
As a warehouse manager, you are responsible for a vital part of the supply chain process. You'll manage people (25+), processes and systems to ensure goods are received, stored and dispatched appropriately, and that productivity targets are met. Overseeing daily operations of two warehouses.
You'll also be responsible for workplace health and safety standards and for the security of the building and stock which includes hazardous materials.
Key areas of responsibilities and accountability:
* Establish and implement best practice warehousing principles and processes.
* Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures are followed by the team.
* Develop and track metrics/KPIs, reports, and maintain process and safety documentation.
* Ensure accurate and relevant documentation for goods in and out, including proper stock labeling.
* Drive efficiency by identifying and applying innovative improvements to warehouse processes.
* Create and maintain clear and effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Store hazardous materials in full compliance with regulations.
* Continuously review and implement measures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
* Promote and enforce company rules and regulations.
* Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date training records.
* Add value through ongoing evaluation and enhancement of processes.
* Oversee the accuracy of logs and records related to warehouse activities.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across all warehouse functions.
Profile
:
* Strong technical and IT skills, with expertise in database management and spreadsheets
* Excellent problem-solving abilities at both tactical and strategic levels
* Effective under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines
* Adapts flexibly to shift-based warehouse operations
* Thorough knowledge of legal requirements for warehouse operations
* Familiar with MHE (Material Handling Equipment) operating procedures
* Proficient in using SAP software
* Proactive in anticipating and overcoming obstacles
* Holds a current FLT (Forklift Truck) licence
* FLT Instructor certification is highly desirable
* Extensive practical experience is also highly valued
* Skilled at identifying inefficiencies and leading process improvements through innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
