About the Role
Were seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector to join our client, a leading manufacturer of automotive components. This is a hands-on role where youll perform quality inspections and lead a small team to ensure that all products meet exacting customer and company standards. We are looking for someone who has previous experience as a Quality Inspection Supervisor or Team Leader in engineering or manufacturing, ideally within the automotive or carbon fibre sectors.(Applications from food manufacturing backgrounds cannot be considered.)
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the daily activities of the inspection team to meet schedules, quality standards, and on-time delivery targets.
* Review and resolve customer issues, including assessing borderline components.
* Ensure all inspected parts meet customer requirements for carbon fibre, lacquer, and paint standards, both mid-process and pre-dispatch.
* Collaborate with other departments to rework non-conforming products.
* Record and communicate non-conformances in the internal quality database.
* Maintain compliance with company procedures and ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated and operational.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Work closely with the Goods Out team to prioritise workload and allocate labour effectively.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Proven ability to manage a small team, meet daily targets, and handle recruitment, absence, disciplinary matters, and performance reviews.
* Experience using Romer arms for inspection, alignment, and joining tasks.
* Strong leadership with a positive, hands-on attitude and a focus on teamwork.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Consistent awareness of Health & Safety procedures.
* Experience inspecting paint finishes and knowledge of composite manufacturing processes.
