Southend-basedCandidates must live within one hour's travel of the Southend Ambulance Hub or be willing to relocate to be eligible to apply. Applicants who have completed the recruitment process within the past 6 months are not eligible to apply.

Role and Responsibilities
Paramedics will routinely work with other Allied Health Professionals in partnership organisations in both hospitals and community-based services to ensure safe referrals and discharge. A shift on an ambulance involves operating in a wide range of environments, across urban and rural areas, managing a spectrum from birth to end of life, chronic conditions to critical illness or injury. The two-year NQP consolidation provides a structured, nationally developed program of support, mentorship and supervision to transition from newly qualified to a confident, autonomous clinician.
Support and Training
* No solo responding in first 6 months
* 150-300 hours supervised practice in the first 12 weeks after registration with an experienced paramedic
* Practice Educator course completion at 9 months onwards via Trust approved program
* 24/7 Clinical Advice Line to validate clinical decision-making and discharge planning
* Personally issued tablet to access electronic patient care records and clinical guidelines
Additional Information
Transfer Restrictions: Successful applicants will not be eligible to join the internal transfer list for a period of 24 months while completing consolidation.
