Responsibilities
* All corrective, preventative, predictive, and trouble maintenance
* Perform directed switching per attachment A
* Perform any equipment operations
* Perform all testing functions per attachment A
* Operate and analyze results for all test equipment as required
* Assist in the development and training of personnel
* Work alone or in a crew depending on the task and complexity.
Job Qualifications
* A two-year degree or certificate in Electrical Technology, Mechanic Technology or Electric Construction/Maintenance from an accredited college or university or equivalent as determined by management is preferred
* Must have Electrician Journeyman experience.
* A minimum of three years’ experience with diverse types of energized and de-energized substation equipment, rubber gloving, climbing and electrical operating procedure skills.
* Must demonstrate sufficient computer and technology abilities.
* Must possess a thorough knowledge of Company equipment, standards and practices applicable to this type of work, and have a working knowledge of fundamental theory relating thereto.
* Ability to read and thoroughly understand complicated electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams and construction prints.
* Must be able to perform strenuous work including work at elevated heights and confined spaces.
* Must be able to operate all equipment such as aerial lifts, boom trucks, fork trucks, and articulating lifts, backhoes, and other equipment associated with construction and maintenance.
* A NYS CDL Class A (restricted) or higher is preferred.
* OSHA crane certification is preferred
* Must pass physical abilities examination.
* Must pass validated aptitude test.
* Must have a high school diploma/GED
* Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver Policy
Salary
* $52.26 per hour
Incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation (DOT) covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). The Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
